Timothy Cummings was born in Albuquerque New Mexico in 1968.
A self taught artist, he started painting in grade school.
He became fascinated with dolls and began creating them as objects
of art influenced by catholic iconography and "Day of the Dead" imagery.
With further influence by local artists Terri Corbin and R.K. Sloan
he developed his macabre vision. In 1992 he brought his first show
to San Francisco and moved there and began showing his work
in several underground venues. In 1994 he was invited to show his work
in a group exhibit at the Catherine Clark Gallery (then named "Morphos").
Impressed with his work, the gallery accepted him in as one of
their core artists and he has been showing there ever since.
He has also exhibited in galleries in New York and Los Angeles and Berlin
Not only has Timothy's work been well received critically,
but it has been sought out by several devoted collectors and has shown up
in some prominent collections including: The di Rosa Preserve, Napa, CA.,
Misty and Lewis Gruber, Chicago, IL and San Francisco, CA, Gary Noguera,
San Francisco, CA, Tom Patchett, Los Angeles, CA, Whoopi Goldberg Los Angeles, CA..
